The diagram shows the different ways that we help our children at Maindee. Universal provision means provision which is accessible to all pupils. Some children might need something above and beyond universal provision, and we call that targeted support. Targeted support might be provided individually, or as part of a small group. Sometimes targeted support is provided by outside agencies, but parents are always made aware of this. A very small number of children at Maindee require more individual help and support, and we call this specialist. Children who have specialist support often access a curriculum which is different to their peers. All children at Maindee have opportunities to access the support that they need to make progress.
